Works for two pianos by Philip Glass, Steve Reich and Maurice Ravel with Live Visualization
An immersive multimedia spectacular that re-envisions contemporary and classic pieces for piano, bringing them alive through the radical and revelatory approach of Ars Electronica. Dennis Russell Davies and Maki Namekawa will perform innovative works with live visualisations by Cori Olan, including ‘Four Movements for two Pianos’ by Philip Glass, Steve Reich’s ‘Piano Phase, and Maurice Ravel’s ‘Mother Goose’ – a piece co-commissioned by Abu Dhabi Festival and the LA Phil (Gustavo Dudamel, Music & Artistic Director) with Ars Electronica, premiered in 2016 at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles and conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen.
