Our shoulders come under a bit of wear and tear from life in general as well as our yoga practice. So let's get to know a bit more about this complex joint and how to prevent and heal injuries.
This workshop is ideal if you've already experienced some shoulder pain or if you want to avoid it, or if you would love to know how to strengthen and increase range of motion. So basically everyone!
The Shoulder Panel
Dr Kate Jordan, sports doctor to the British Olympic team, will discuss the anatomy of the shoulder joint and how to keep it healthy
Ogi Antic, certified strength and conditioning coach with Be Strong will go though a series of useful exercises that can be used to strengthen and stabilise the shoulder joint, in addition to your yoga practice.
Nea Ferrier, long-term Ashtanga yoga practitioner and teacher at AYD, (and rotator-cuff tear survivor!) will discuss alignment considerations for common yoga-asanas, and how to use the Ashtanga practice to heal rather than hinder shoulder health.
AED100 for AYD students
AED150 for non-AYD students
