World-famous riding school to perform in Abu Dhabi
Vienna’s Spanish Riding School is set to enthral the horse lovers of the capital.
Ballet dancers are always amazing to watch, but horses that can dance with more grace and skill than you could ever manage are even more impressive.
The Spanish Riding School is known throughout the world for its beautiful dressage performances.
Based in the culture-packed city of Vienna in Austria, the organisation will be performing its White Ballet show for the first time in the Middle East later this month.
The group will be treating the capital to an awe-inspiring display of equestrian skill at Emirates Palace on Sunday March 24 and Monday March 25.
The riding school has been in operation for 465 years, and it’s the only institution where classical dressage is still practised in the same manner as it was in the 18th century.
The mesmerising show will feature the school’s famous white Lipizzaner stallions, and whether you’re a keen horse rider or not, you’ll find the incredibly close bond between the horses and trainers both moving and inspiring.
Taking place in the grounds of the iconic hotel, the show will be performed to classical Austrian music and will feature wonderfully stylised gaits, changes of steps and jumps.
This includes acts such as All Steps and Movement of the High School (moves from the Olympic Grand Prix Dressage), Pas De
Deux (where two horses mirror each other’s movements) and School Quadrille (featuring eight horses dancing to music from the time of the Viennese Congress).
You can buy tickets to this fantastic display from www.ticketmaster.ae, with premium tickets going for Dhs250 and VIP for Dhs650.
Dhs250 (premium), Dhs650 (VIP). Mar 24-25, 6pm onwards. Emirates Palace, West Corniche
