Organised by Dubai World Trade Centre and held at Dubai Harbour, the Dubai International Boat Show is the annual highlight of the region’s boating industry.
While the stunning yacht display and events agenda make this a must-attend for boating enthusiasts, there’s also a serious commercial side to the show.
The maritime sector now contributes AED26.9bn, or seven per cent, to Dubai’s GDP. The boat-owning audience in the Middle East is key for all players in the sector, from superyacht brokers to marine equipment manufacturers, and across all its related parts too, from diving to fishing. The luxury end of the market is particularly important: at 63 metres, the average length of a yacht owned by a Middle Eastern buyer is the highest in the world.
This year’s event marks its 28th edition, featuring everything from superyachts to fishing vessels and sailing boats, the latest diving equipment and innovative marine technology. There will also be a continuous programme to entertain visitors, including water stunt displays and an aquabike championship.
