With the golf course set right alongside the beautiful Arabian Gulf, any guest who hits one of the new eco-friendly balls into the ocean - will be giving a little gift to the marine life rather than adding to the waste worriment. The all-new sustainable sport is waving goodbye to the litter bug that is the regular golf ball and is instead opting for environmentally friendly alternatives. The Eco-Golf ball is ecological, made from renewable and non-toxic materials and is 100% biodegradable. The best part, these golf balls also double up as a delicious meal for marine life as they feature a fish food filling. Once the ball hits the water, its external layer biodegrades in less than 48 hours and releases the food contained in its core and disperses it in the surrounding waters. As part of Hilton’s ‘Travel with Purpose’ program, the launch, which is a resort first in Ras Al Khaimah and the Northern Emirates, comes as part of an ongoing initiative to preserve the environment in the region. Completely safe for marine flora and fauna, the Eco-Golf balls bring an added value to the sea life, which means golfers will be able to improve the sustainability and biodiversity of the marine environment, while they practice their favourite sport.
